Self Assessment Units to Support the Framework As the pupils work through the QCA Units, their progress can be monitored by both themselves and the teacher through self assessment. Each pupil keeps with record of what is being learned during the week as well as a set of the objectives for the week in pupil-friendly language. Pupils are also able to highlight in the plenary the 'I can, I know...' statements allowing discussion to take place and also assessment of the progress of the individual. Schools are using these materials in many different ways. Some schools are using them as part of the annotation process with finished work at the end of a unit, while others are using it in a specific plenary session before they move onto the next week's objective, ensuring coverage and learning is taking place. However self assessments booklets are implemented, they add to the quality of the learning experience of the pupil in the subject of ICT.
