Ideas for the Foundation stage

Many Nursery units now use the Valiant Roamer to help introduce the concepts of direction and movement.  To support this work, Teachers could introduce some enjoyable Logo starter exercises,  which could replicate or build on an existing Roamer activity.

Open the file 'Can you find the Roamer'. Please note, this needs the program Softease(Textease) LOGO, which is part of the SoftEase Studio.

On opening the file, a short audio track sets the task and the children can use either of the arrowed buttons to reveal the Roamer from under the blue table.  Use the Home button (house) to reset the Roamer. Repeat the exercise by sending a Valiant Roamer to hide underneath a table.
