QCA 4E Short focussed Tasks 2 - Inputting commands Introduce the children to the command line option. Note the importance in correctly framing commands and the need to think about a starting point and orientation on the screen. Give the children prepared sequences and ask them to predict the outcomes. Test their hypothesis using the Command line option.
Try the following Forward 50, Right 90, Forward 50, Right 90, Forward 50, Right 90, Forward 50, Right 90; Forward 200, Right 120, Forward 200, Right 120, Forward 200, Right 120.
Tips. To move things along abbreviate the commands. Right clicking over a command window displays a full list of commands. This maybe a good opportunity to demonstrate MS Windows Cut and Paste techniques. Present incorrect sequences and set children the task of breaking the code.
