Thumb Drives

Otherwise known as USB discs/USB flash drives

[Updated 09/09/2003]

Probably the most useful device to move data between systems. During the process of updating this website, I moved files from a laptop and desktop system on three occasions using an older 32Mb drive. The process is simple and takes only a few seconds. Simply plug the device into a free USB port, open My Computer and a new 'Removable drive' is listed. Double click the drive to see it contents, or drag files from My Documents etc. Alternatively, save direct to the drive.
